“Bootleg” or “bootlegging” usually refers to illegally producing, transporting and/or selling alcohol; the terms draws from the act of hiding flasks of liquor in the legging of one’s boot.
Inspired by stories of the Prohibition era, and by the way in which this project came to life (in secrecy, without the approval of the company direction*), we decided to name this beer “Bootlegger”
Gold coloured California Common style beer, lightly spiced with coriander and cane sugar. Starting from malted barley and a small amount of wheat, we add Amarillo, Perle and East Kent Goldings hops for bitterness and taste. The use of lager yeast for fermentation, brought to a higher temperature (25° C) complements its unique taste. The distinctive bitter aroma and the strong carbonation contribute in making it pleasantly refreshing.

(*) Kenneth E. Knight introduced the notion bootlegging in 1967. Bootlegging is defined as research in which motivated individuals secretly organize the innovation process. It usually is a bottom-up, non-programmed activity, without the official authorization of the responsible management, but for the benefit of the company (Wikipedia).
